Storage and analysis of access data
The webserver logs every access to this site in server logfiles. These logfiles are mainly used for operational purposes of the webserver itself and for investigations of suspicious acitivies.
Furthermore in order to improve the content of this website, the OpenSource software Matomo (https://matomo.org/, formerly Piwik) is used to track visitors and their movement within across the different pages of this site. The software stores your IP address in a anonymized fashion and a person-based profiling is thus not possible.
The operation of the software and the analysis of the stored data is exclusively done by myself. All software is hosted locally. No data is handed over to any third party.

Fake interview
What is the goal of Adam4EVE.eu?
To provide all interested people free and unbiased access to publicly available statistical data from and about the EVE Online game that they otherwise would have to create their own spreadsheets.

How does it stand out from other tools?
It has no paywall and no ads. It doesn't require or even offer registration or handing over API keys. Thus you only have to give the site minimal trust. The creator is not aligned with any of the ingame powerblocks and thus suspectable of manipulating the presented data. Furthermore I haven't seen a tool yet granting the level of choice regarding parameters of the data displayed. This makes the usage more complex though. But EVE players are used to a steep learning curve.
And you know who I'm in real-life. I'm always suspicious of website/tools where the creator is not know at all or only by an alias.

What is it not?
It does not track private data, thus player assets, profits, kills, etc. There are plenty of tools for that, if you feel you need such a thing and want to trust your data to someone else.

How did the site come to existance?
Started optimizing my EVE career with spreadsheets. However this grew tedious and since I didn't want to entrust my data to some unknown 3rd party and I knew PHP/MySQL as a hobby, I started creating a website tracking my stuff.
Slowly I expanded this to track general market and manufacturing metric to find good deals. This gained interest of co-workers and I re-structured the site to expose public data to everyone interested. From there on implementing one feature and graph lead to an idea for a different feature and so on.

What is your motivation to expand/maintain A4E?
My pure joy at looking at graphs. Primarily I'm not expanding the site for others to see and use, but because I want to see how many of X got killed in Y. Because I want to know first if the price of Z spikes. And if I can spare some new player the time and effort to create spreadsheets for public available data and rather enjoy the game during the saved time, then this is an added benefit.

Will you make non-public data tracking available?
Like tracking the personal trade or manufacturing profits? No, this would be a lot of effort to make it multi-tenant which is currently hardcoded to me. And there are several tools out there, that provide this service, although mostly with a fee. Have no motivation for doing that.

Who are you in EVE?
Started playing in 2009, dabbled a bit in NullSec ratting in a sleepy corp. My career was kickstarted by a co-worker leaving EVE and giving me his characters. Ethan02 was one of them. Suddenly had a few billion I started trading and manufacturing with. Expanded my wealth with this aswell as with some Ice mining. Have never joined a big corp or alliance due to real life time restrictions. Thus more of a solo player with no association to any meta politics.

What are the future plans for the site?
Whatever new statistics and tools come to my mind and depending on the data that CCP is willing to give us. Still have a long list of open points in the Mantis bug tracker.

Thanks
A pleasure. Feel free to contact me with other questions anytime.
